Perched high in the rolling hills of Trequanda in southern Tuscany, Ultima Pietra is a small, artisanal estate dedicated to crafting elegant wines that express the unique character of its remarkable site. Founded on restored historic farmland, the estate combines a deep respect for Tuscan tradition with a forward-thinking approach, planting varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay to showcase the potential of this high-altitude terroir.

The vineyards sit on poor clay and silt soils strewn with ancient metamorphic stones, where warm Tuscan days are tempered by cool evening breezes that help preserve freshness and aromatic complexity. Farming is rooted in organic and biodynamic principles, with meticulous attention paid to every vine and every harvest. Production remains intentionally small, with fewer than 9,000 bottles produced annually, allowing the team to focus on precision, quality, and site expression.

Under the guidance of owner Margot Stone Bowen and winemakers Corinna Banti, Edoardo Ermini, and Giovanni Stella, Ultima Pietra produces a focused portfolio of wines ranging from mineral-driven Chardonnay and vibrant Rosé to finely structured Bordeaux-inspired reds. Each wine reflects the estate's philosophy of thoughtful stewardship, minimal intervention, and a commitment to capturing the beauty and individuality of this extraordinary Tuscan hillside.
