Domaine Regnard

From the heart of the Maranges in Burgundy, we welcome Domaine Regnard

to the family.

Nestled in the heart of the Maranges appellation in Burgundy, Domaine Regnard is a family-run estate with a rich history dating back to the early 20th century. The estate was established by Auguste Regnard shortly after World War I and has since been passed down through four generations. Today, Florian Regnard, who took the helm in 2010, continues the family tradition with a modern touch.

Under Florian's guidance, the domaine has expanded to 17 hectares, encompassing prestigious appellations such as Maranges, Santenay, and Chassagne-Montrachet. The vineyards are cultivated using sustainable practices, emphasizing minimal mechanization and manual labor to respect the land and its unique terroirs. The estate's commitment to environmentally friendly viticulture ensures the production of wines that truly express the character of their origins.

In the cellar, Florian employs a thoughtful approach to winemaking, combining traditional techniques with modern insights. For white wines, the process includes immediate pressing, cold settling, and aging in oak barrels for 12 months, resulting in wines that are luminous, fresh, and subtly oaked. Red wines undergo meticulous sorting, complete destemming, cold maceration, and fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by 12 months of barrel aging, producing wines that are warm, structured, and fruit-forward.

Florian's dedication and innovative approach have not gone unnoticed; he has been recognized as one of the most promising young winemakers in the Côte de Beaune. His wines, including Maranges 1er Cru 'Les Clos Roussots', Santenay, and Chassagne-Montrachet, are now available in Canada for the first time, offering a fresh perspective on these classic Burgundy appellations.

Tasting Notes

Lemon curd spread on warm brioche, golden apple, white flowers, and a hint of almond cream. There’s a gentle kiss of oak adding toasted hazelnut and vanilla, but the bright acidity keeps everything lifted and fresh. The texture is pure silk—rich but never heavy, with a mineral core that hums beneath the fruit.
