Daubanton

Come quickly,
I am tasting the stars!

Located in the southern part of the Champagne area with Jurassic slopes overlying Kimmeridgan bedrock, these lush valleys are home to the Daubanton’s vines spreading over 4 hectares of the Haut-Marnais vineyards.
Surrounded by beautiful terroir, Monique and Jean-Jacques Daubanton planted their first vine in 1982 in Rizaucourt.

The husband-wife team bottled their first wine in 1990 and after 10 years built their winery producing on premise since 2012. With the help of their children, this impressive family produces excellent valued Grower Champagne. Daughter Amélie is now the winemaker with son Clément tending the vineyards of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.

Composed of 35% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay, the Brut has a straw yellow colour, with both almond and coppery green reflections. It’s subtlety seduces with a harmony of bubbles, flavour and taste. 100% Pinot Noir, the Rosé de saignée is deep pink in colour. Bringing memories of cherry popsicles and framboise on the nose, this ‘pretty in pink’ is well structured with a dry mouth feel and perfect acidity. 100% Chardonnay, the Blanc de Blancs is pure delight. With less than 1 gram of sugar, its elegance produces notes of saltines and peach yogurt, complex in flavour, delicate in taste.

Hailed as one of the hottest Champagne regions, the wines of Côte des Bar have a distinctive lightness making them much sought after. The Daubanton family has ensured perfection, from the harvest by hand to the departure of the bottles to the cellars of their customers.

The warmth and welcome from the Daubanton's translates to their wines and we were immediately enamoured with this lovely family. ‘Home is where the heart is’ and is evident in every bottle shared.
