With tradition and a love of the land, stands a family in the name of Barolo.

The steep slopes of Seghesio winery in Monforte d’Alba were not always covered with vines. It wasn’t until 1964 when Ettore Seghesio, a tenant farmer working the land, saved enough money to purchase the farm with the foresight to plant Nebbiolo.

For many years the grapes were sold off in bulk but in 1988,  Ettore’s sons Aldo and Riccardo, took over the family domaine and bottled their first vintage of  'La Villa' Barolo. Over 30 years later, Riccardo now  runs the estate supported by his brother’s children after Aldo’s sudden   death in 2010. Together Riccardo, nephews Marco and Sandro  with niece Michaela, produce the loveliest wines with the perfect  marriage of traditional and modern vinification.

Marco and Sandro, both agricultural technicians, work alongside uncle Riccardo in the vineyards and in the cellars while Michela handles the operational side of this entire family affair.

The Seghesio are strongly attached to their roots, both in the ground  and at home. Their philosophy is simple: to craft wines that truly  reflect the terroir and the grapes they came from.

Whether the majestic ‘La Villa' Barolo, refined ‘La Chiesa” Dolcetto or fresh Dolcetto, these wines mirror the love the Seghesio family has for the land and the love for their family.

These wines will warm the heart as they please the palate.
